It was very difficult for the residents of Rana Riyasat Wali Street to cross it as most of times, street remained full of stagnant wastewater. Sewerage line was blocked and wastewater from houses discharged directly in the street creating lot of problems for the residents.
Rana Riyasat Wali Street situated in Ward no. 5 of UC MC in district Lodhran. More than 70 people leaving in the street have been facing this issue for long time. Especially school going children and old persons had difficulty to pass the street. Many times they thought to manage the wastewater by their own efforts but failed due to technical and financial constraints.
In the meanwhile residents of street came to know about the role of LPP in sanitation from social activist Mukhtiar Hussain. They hold a meeting and decided to forward an application to LPP office for construction of sewerage scheme. They nominated Mr. Hamid Ali as focal person for all process. He submitted application regarding the sewerage problem.
LPP’s team collected all relevant details and visited the street for initial findings. An assessment survey was conducted by engineers to collect all the required technical information. After completion of all necessary documentation, work started in Rana Riyasat Wali Street.
LPP team completed construction of scheme within a week to facilitate residents and prevent them from different diseases that might cause due to stagnant water.
Now residents of the street are so happy to have a clean and clear way in their street after having proper sewerage system.
